The problem01

Wanting to go is easy. Having someone to go with is not.

Live music has a quiet failure mode: the show you wanted to see happens, and you find out afterwards. Either you missed it, or you saw it and nobody was free.

Ticketing apps solve discovery and sell you a seat. None of them solve the part that actually stops people going, the empty second ticket.

OutTwo starts from the other end: a record of what you have been to, artists you follow, and what is coming near you. The company you keep is built on top of that, not bolted onto a listings feed.

The calls I made02
01

Single-player first

The obvious build is the social one, matching, messaging, plans. I did the opposite and shipped the diary alone. If people will not keep a record of their own gigs, no amount of matching saves it. Prove the boring loop retains before building anything on top of it.

02

A web app you can install, not an app-store build

Installable on iOS and Android from the browser, so there is one codebase, no review queue, and a fix reaches everyone the moment it ships. For a product still finding its shape, iteration speed beats a store listing.

03

Someone else's event data, my own graph

Listings come from an events API rather than being scraped or hand-entered, that is a solved problem and not where the product lives. What I own is the layer above it: who you follow, what you attended, and who is going. Posters and ticket stubs are unstructured, so an Anthropic SDK extraction pipeline reads them into that graph rather than asking anyone to type them in.

04

The diary is the moat, not the listings

Anyone can show you what is on tonight. Two years of your own gig history is not portable to a competitor, and it gets more valuable the longer you keep it. That is why the record came first.

On a phone03

Designed for the queue, not the desk.

Almost every real moment of use happens standing up: logging a show on the way home, checking a date, seeing who else is going. The phone layout is the product; the desktop view is the shop window.
